Some of Garry Hubert's ancestors must have seen  the original castle when they visited Kobolenz in the mid 1700s before they migrated to Austria-Hungary.  This is the Stolzenfels Castle  which was rebuilt in 1836 and sets above the Rhine River.  Around the river bend is the Moselle River. Kobelnz was the former residence of the Electors of Trier.
