Myksvoll Farm House This was a grass farm in the "good old days". A foundation beam of the farm house has carved in it "1717". The house was brought by Garry Hubert's ancestor in 1763. Scattered around the house on this day were wild berries. It is believe that Myskvoll Farm house and barn rocks were taken from an old monestery known as St. Michels which was land that once belonged to King Fairhaired. It became known as Michael's Place or Mysvoll. It is believed the monks of the monestary had taken the rocks from a watch tower which existed at or near this spot. The monks perished during an epidemic. This is a story Christine L. (Mysvold )Johansen told me years ago. |

Old Cold Storage Burrow Here is where milk, eggs, roots vegetables and other foods were kept cold in the summer time before there was refrigeration. |

Myksvoll Summer Cottage In the summer, many Sunday afternoons were spent high up on the hill at the families summer cottage which looked over Happy Valley [Tweedt Valley] and from the sea came the cooling breezes. |

Spinning Wheel This Spinning Wheel has been in the family for a very very long time. This was not a piece of antique furniture bought to help the decor of this farm house, it was actually used in this house for the purpose of spinning yarn needed to make sweaters, socks and other items of clothes needed for the Norwegian winters. Behind it are table, chairs and other furniture which were, also, used by the generations of the family. |
