First I'd like to thank all of you who have helped me create
these newsletters by sending me photographs, answers to this month's questions,
and sending me corrections and additions.
Questions for Next Newsletter:On one of the list servers to which I belong, we've been having this great conversation about games we played as children. . I entered the conversation when the group started to talk about playing tag and I recall calling out: All yee, all yee Oxen free!" when everyone was being called back to home base because someone had been caught and it was time to hide again. Some came back with the words: "Ollie, Ollie Oxen free." What did you and your friends shout? There was another game where a person threw the ball over a house or some kind of building and they would shout, "Annie, Annie Over." I'm also trying to remember some of the songs the girls sang as we jumped rope. Anyone remember one or more? Then Clyde wrote and suggested this as one of our next questions for our next newsletters we talk about the children games we played in Lodi... |
