500 Athletes Take to Hills
Squaw Valley, Calif. (UPI) --More than 500 Olympic games athletes took to the hills Wednesday for their first all-out practice sessions as the sun broke through the snow to bring beautiful weather to Squaw Valley.
...Scandinavians were wondering aloud if the Russians had invented some sort of "wonder wax"....
One was 18 year-old Willie Bogner, wonder boy of the West German group. He and Pepi Stiegler, 21, Austria, were drawing the raves of the other skiers on the slope...."
