#14 Worms by JF: Another communist statue Behind the statue is a large adobe building which may have been a church before the communists changed all the churches into public buildings which were used in many ways, such as barns, or administrative quarters. Religions were outlawed under the reign of the Bolsheviks who, later, called themselves communists. Below is a closer view of the old adobe building

#15 Worms by JF While the one church, the building in the foreground, falls into further decay, the one in the background, the Old Reform Church, has been reclaimed by a new congregation, and has been repair plus the re-reconstruction of the bell towner has occuered. See photographs of an earlier time period when the church bell tower is being rebuilt. During the years under communism, most churchs and cathedrals lost their bells which were melted down into bullents and other instruments of war and then the towers were knocked down so the buildinds lost their look of having been a church.
