Bippus Family Letters
----------------------------
Special Note: I'd to thank Anna, nee Bippus, Kleinschmidt, e-mail: gt.kleinschmidt@t-online.de , for the Bippus family data from German records.
See Johannes Bippus b. 30 July 1838, Johannes Bippus and Johanna Reinhardt.
Letter 19 Nov 1994:
"Thank you very much for sending the new a Bippus Family History. You did really good work and my dates and pictures are already included in the HISTORY. ....
You sent copies from the book "175 Jahre Borodino". The picture on page 120 (Die Sippe Bippus und Nachfahred" from 1935 represents the family of Anna. I myself an the big girl in the middle of the first line.
I am sorry to say there are a few mistakes in the BIPPUS FAMILY HISTORY: (1) On the map "Bippus lived in Boll..." ....lived in the Black Forest near the city of Oberdorf..." "Rotenzimmern, not Rotzenzimmern" ; (2) Unfortunately there is a big mistake in the "Heimatbuch Borodino under Friedrichsfeld", the notes to the pictures on page 339 and 340 above have been mistaken. p. 339 does not show the house of Gottfried Bippus but the church of Borodino which has been transformed to a communication center, whereas on page 340 you see a house that has been rebuilt instead of the house of Gottfried Bippus -house.
Today the former church of Borodino looks exactly as seen on picture p. 339, the church tower has been abolished, the middle part is still original, additions have been made on the left and on the right side, windows are new, you can see that on p. 194....
Kindest regards, "

Other LETTERS ON BIPPUS FAMILIES
E-mail from Maik Bippus of 8 Jan 1999. E-mail is bippus@guetali.fr [S-72]
The following is Maik Bippus Family History:
1st generation:
Johannes BIPPUS 'Dorfvogt' (= a kind of village judge) at Boll near Oberndorf (Wuerttemberg/Germany) married to: Anna Barbara LEICHT (from near Oberndorf)
*no birth-death-marriage dates known
2nd generation
Johannes Paul Bippus (son of above Johannes Bippus + Anna Barbara), born on 29.6.1723 at Boll died 29.10.1810 at Rotenzimmern he got married on 3 Aug. 1747 to:: Anna Maria MATTHES, (daughter of the mayor of Rotenzimmern) born 26.Apr. 1723 at Rotenzimmern/Wuerttemberg died 20. Oct. 1789 at Rotenzimmern
3rd generation:
Johannes BIPPUS (son of above Joh.Paul Bippus and Anna Maria) this is your No. B-21 in your family tree born 19 Aug. 1764 at Rotenzimmern He was married to: Christiana (Christine) Schneider, born on 26 Sept. 1774 in Leidringen/Wuerttemberg No death date known.
The father of Christiana (Christine) Schneider was Georg Schneider who was Kuefer* in Leidringen/Wuertt.
This Johannes (your No. B-21) and Christiana went 1803 from Leidringen to Biaschetzna/Poland, then to Kannstadt and 1814 to Borodino/Bessarabia.
In Poland were born their sons:
- Philipp BIPPUS, born 16 Aug. 1803 in Biaschetzna, died 10.Aug. 1843 in Borodino
- Johannes BIPPUS, born 24.June 1807 in Kannstadt
Note: it seems to me that they also had following children, but I have no prove that they are really the kids of Johannes and Christiana or another Bippus who arrived in 1814 in Borodino:
- Anna Maria BIPPUS, born 13.8.1794, died 1820
- Christian BIPPUS, born 7.aug.1798
- Agnesia BIPPUS, born 11 mar. 1800
- Anna Bippus, born 19 Mar. 1802
Well, most of the rest you may know:
Philipp BIPPUS, born 16.Aug.1803 in Biaschetzna, died 10 Aug. 1843 in Borodino. He was married to Elisabeth Reinhardt, born 3 Apr. 1808 in Sulzfeld, Poland They had the following children:
- Philipp, born 26 Apr. 1823 (all children born in Borodino)
- Jakob, born 20. Oct. 1832
- Andreas, born 1.april, 1837
- Johann, boorn 21.June 1839
- Karl, born 19 Aug. 1841
- Johanna, born 10 mar. 1844 ....
Johannes BIPPUS (born 24. June 1807 in Kannstadt) was married to Johanna Renata Reinhardt, born on 20 apr. 1814 in Sulzfeld/Poland. They had following children:
- Gottfried Johann BIPPUS, 14.Sep.1832 (all children born in Borodino)
- Michael, born 3 Feb. 1835
- johannes, born 30.Jul. 1838
- Philipp, born 7.Feb. 1841
- Magdalene, born 23.Mar.1844
- Johanna Christine, born 2.Jun.1847
Christian, born 27.10.1849
Karl, born 28.Febr. 1852
- Jakob, born 4.Febr. 1855
- Gottlob, born 29.Jul. 1856 (your No. B50, don't understand why you gave him the first name Gottlieb)
so, that's all for today. I may make a closer check to your list a bit later.
(*Kuefer is the German word for barrel makers, don't know how it's called in English)
Still, I've found a rather important error on your page:
http://members.aol.com/RemMick/BorodinoBessarabia.index.html/Page3.html
1940
Invasion of German Troops
Most German-Russians of Borodino were deported to Germany
(you wrote: after Germany attacked Russia)
Historically above doesn't seem to be correct!!
In fact Hitler and Stalin had agreed that Russia would take back the territories occupied by Rumania after World War I (Bessarabia) and that Germany would get back the Germans living over there (Hitler needed Germans to settle in the occupied Polish territories, mainly Wester-Prussia).
Most of them had been not so unhappy to go back to 'Germany' at that time and I wouldn't call it deportation.
Germany attacked Russia only later in 1940, when the Bessarabian-Germans had been already in Poland.
Still, they flet the Russian, but in late 1944/early1945 when the Russian army was approaching Western-Prussia, and at that time they really had to suffer the mentioned attacks by airplanes, etc. (+the very hard winter of that year)
Bye bye
Maik

BIPPUS FAMILY
David Mathia, dmathia@hotmail.com , e-mail 11 Feb. 2000:
"....While looking through the site on Borodino, I located my grandfather and grandmother, Reinhold and Emma (Stickel) Bippus.... The other two passengers with them are my mother Lilli and her sister Hilma. A son was born later ....during the flight from the Russian army to Germany in 1945.... Grandpa died on the Russian front and fell somewhere near Bessarabia , shortly before the end of the war. " [letter only in part]
