Notes from Weist family : >>Peter Ochsner,
Sr. lived on his own estate of over 4,800 acres in the Worms area. While
he sent his two oldesst sons to Switzerland in order not to become Russian
ciizens, the two youngest, too young at the time, thus became Russian citizerns.
His second son Jacob (1866-1946), emigrated to Sutton, Nebraska while
Peter chose to remain in Russia. His two youngest son remained with
him. (Oscar Ochser, "The Ochsners from Switzerland to Amrica"). The
web site is intersting. It lists two daughter colonies under the name
Ochsner (Also one under Roemmich). Adam Gieslger in "From Catherine To Khruhev,"
page 116, in talking about the establishment of daughter colonies in the
Beresan District, says "In addition to the founding of new colonies
many private farms, some of them of large size, were acquired by Beresan
colonists, particularly in the region about Rastadt and Munchen. The
land here had been owned by Bulgar and Serb colonists, and by Russian nobility,
who gradually sold most of it to the more enterpising Germans." I rather
suspect this Ochsner colony would refer to the estate of 4,800 acres owned
by Peter Ochsner, Sr. Oscar Arnold Alfred Ochsner, born in Anajew, Ukraine,
Russia, which I cannot locate, but could easly be near the estate.

History<<XXX Note from JARH: There were
three Ochsner chutors [large estates/farms]/ The one, and probably
the largest was the Ochsner Chutor known as "Kamanya", near the large port
city of Odessa and the other two were just alittle north of Worms / Odessa,
