Prussian Army under King Frederick Wilhelm III from two main cities of Berlin and Konigsberg serving in Swedish Pommerania under Geneal Gerhard von Bluecher with 3,000 linemen this included the 45th) , 3,000 busiler battalions and 186,000 infantry. SIDE NOTE: There are four things which are interesting about von Bluecher: (1) He was born in Rostock, Mecklenburg; (2) He was in the town of Edenkoben / Palatinate where my Roemmich's lived; (3) he fought for Frederick Wilhelm III against Napoleon and was in the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig in 1813 and the Battle of Waterloo in 1815; and (4) due to services rendered he was given the title of Bluecher Prince of Wahlstatt and given the estate of Krieblowitz (Krobielowice, Poland) ....where he died in 1819. He married twice. First in 1773 to Karoline Amalie von Mehling (1756-1791) and second in 1795 to Amalie von Colomb (1772-1850). As for Natzmer, I did find Dubislav Gneomar of Natzmer, who was a Prussian Field Marshal. b. 1654 Gutzmin (Chocimino, Poland), Circle Schlawe (Slawno) in Pomerania d. 13 May 1739 Berlin without heirs. In 1806 there 10 Natzmers cousins serving in the Prussian army.. One being Major-general Hans-Christoph von Natzmer. Prussian Infantry Regiments for the 1806 Campaign. See Military Subjects: Organization, Strategy & tactics, Prussian Infantry Regimental Colonels-in-Chief: 1792-1806: http://www.napoleon-series.org/military/organization/Prussia/nfantry/c_prussianinf.html If Georg Hein was in the Natzmar 54th infantry regiment in 1806. See the history of the Battle of Jena and the Jena-Auerstadt Campaign which started in Oct. 1806 against Napoleon. p. 594 of Calusewitz notes on Prussia of 1806 and the Jena Campaign General Natzmer is mention as part of General Bluecher's staff:'>>On the other hand, the march of General Blucehr with the heavy artiller and the small detachment escorting it (for General Natzmer's division, consisting of the remnants of the Wuertemberg's corps was to remain near Prince Hohenlohe) was not in dought. The General on the 24th was near Bhinow, and he arrived on the 28th near Botzenburg, from where he reached Loeckenitz on the 29th, that is to say on the day at the earliest on which Prince Hohenlohe could have crossed the Oder at Schwedt."<< The Prussians lost but gathered in 1807 under the agreement of the 1808 Treaty of Paris. Six officers were given promotions of general and they would become leaders against Napoleon later. One was General Bluecher and the 54th infantry which was under his leadership. See von Bluecher's history and it will give you his campaign information in more detail. His last battle was at Waterloo with Wellington on 18 June 1815. However, we have Georg Hein's wife migr. to Borodino / Bess. in 1814. Was Georg Hein at Waterloo? Another side note. Under von Bluecher as his quartermaster-general was Major-General Gneisenau. See his history. There are several reasons I mention him. According to family legends, one of my ancestor, Army Surgeon Nicholas Haarlos, was a military surgeon. His widow, Barbara, nee Neighardt / Neidhart/ Neidhard, migr. with her daughters, one being my ancestor, Katharina Haarlos b. abt 1794, to Borodino / Bess.. I do not know Barbara was related to the Major-General who was the son of a Saxon lieutenant of artillery, August Wilhelm Neidhardt and his wife Maria Eva, nee Mueller. The Major General was b. 27 Oct 1760 d. 23 Aug 1831. He grew up in poverty at Schildau / [Nordschsen Dist., Saxony, Germany which is abt 12 km southwest of Torgau and 40 km east of Leipzig.]... He joined the Austrian army and served under Margrave of Bayreuth-Ansabach. He served in Poland from 1793 to 1794. In 1796 he married Caroline von Kottwitz. By 1806 he served in prince Hohelohe's staff and fought at Saalfeld and Jena... He had an estate at Ermannsdorf in Silesia....
Sometime knowing the people a person was serving, may give clues to the person. See family in detail in Borodino Genealogy Web Site by clicking on Georg's link. |
