Story from Rita Ost: John and Louis were married Oct 5, 1903 S. Russia.  They were farmers. To this union seven dhilren were born. Of the 3 that died in infancy, one died while they were crossing the ocean on their way to America in 1911.  They settled on a farm northeast of Ashley. In 1936, the farm was sold to Christ Denning and they moved into Ashley. John then did custom Trucking.... Jacob Schweikert's Family History:    Jacob Schweikert occupation was Blacksmith in Borodino / Bess. .  He had apprenices who were sent to him from as far as Germany and the Caucasus Mts. .  He was one of the best. His one son, Karl,  not only became an excellent Blacksmith, he became an inventor of many farm equipment. After Jacob's  first wife died,he took his trade and his second wife and traveled east. The shop in Borodino was tkaen over by Karl who's two-ply  plow became popular. The places Jacob and his families lived were: Borodino / Bess.,  Kotchinbach near Eupatoria, Crimea, Muminby [Mamut-Bai], also near Eupatoria  and  a village near Yalta/ Crimea, Kulm, ND, USA, and American Falls, Idaho. One of the other families who lived in Muminby was the Weigums. David Weigum wrote  MY HOME ON THE CRIMEAN STEPPS which is a valuable history of the German-Russians and their ways of life in Russia.  Wendelin  and Luisa, nee Weigum,  Mueller 's [Miller's] son, Johannes m.
