SAMUEL AND BARBARA KAHLER
Samuel Kahler was born April 6, 1869 at Eigenfeldt, South Russia. He married Barbara Meckle May 6, 1891 at Eigenfeldt, South Russia. Samuel died March 26, 1956 at Burke, So. Dak.
They came over on the ship Wilhelm Der Grosse. They arrived on March 20, 1902 at New York, New York. They became naturalized citizens on April 25, 1911 at Burke, So. Dak.
Barbara Meckle was born Dec. 27, 1872. Barbara died August 31, 1969 at Butte, Nebraska.
Samuel and Barbara were both confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Barbara's fathers name was Lorenz Meckle. Samuels fathers name was August Kahler and mothers maiden name was Salome Eslinger. Samuel's father , August was born March 3, 1838 at Tarutino, Bessarabia. August's fathers name was Karl Kahler. Karl Kahler married Susanna Engel Nov. 16, 1837.
Susanna was born in 1816 at Tarutino, Bessarabia(Black Sea) She was confirmed in 1835, died August 9, 1896.
